Dublin is a great city and there is loads to do. There are loads of great shops in the city, from vintage clothes shop Wildchild to the plush department store Brown Thomas. If you need advice on where to shop or if you're looking for a place to eat just ask us and we can help you. Close to the cottage we have 3 great little grocers if you decide to eat in, Wrights fish shop, Brady's award winning butchers and Nicky's locally produced fruit and veg shop.

gigs . shows . exhibitions

We like to go to gigs, plays and exhibitions all the time and we're going to keep an updated list of events that will be happening in the next week in the cottage and website so that you won't miss anything you fancy. The cottage is also close to Croke Park and the o2 so if you're going to a gig/show or match in either you're perfectly placed.

run . rock-climb . hill-walk . mountain-bike

If you're the active type we can also help you there. We've prepared 3 running loops that leave from the cottage for you to explore the local area. One of our friends, 5 6 7 8 tours, does cycling tours around the north side of the city which we'd highly recommend. There's an awful lot to do in the greater Dublin area, you can hop on the DART and from Dalkey walk to the best outdoor rock-climbing area in Ireland. If you like to get out in the mountains, Wicklow is less than an hour away. Here there are great walking routes and mountain bike trails. If you need help organising either, just let us know.

swim . surf . kitesurf . sail

For the braver of you there are spots around Dublin bay where we like to swim in the sea every now and again. Only 10 minutes from the cottage on an island in the middle of Dublin bay is a great kite-surfing spot where you can get lessons or rent gear. Eoin likes to go surfing in the east coast (when possible) and the west coast so if you need any help with that just let us know. There are dozens of sailing clubs in around Dublin bay where you can go for a lesson/session.
